Chris Plesko PDF Print E-mail

Chris Plesko is a unique individual.  Loads of natural talent, a warm personality, and an unquenchable fire for the things he loves.  Although he often gives credit to the instigator, Chris was a big impetus in getting the team going, his enthusiasm and fire brought things to a whole new level and it couldn't have happened without him.  Whether supporting the wife he adores, out camping in the snow, finishing top 10 solo at 24 Hours of Moab against some of the best riders in the country or hurtling his Galant down Bandimere's dragstrip faster than an early 90s 4-door sedan should ever go (see #719), Chris never does anything halfway.

What a lot of people don't realize is that Chris worked very hard to get where he is today.  People see him now and just figure he's always had success, but just like the rest of us, Chris has had his moments shattered on the side of the trail holding a Clif bar, he affectionately refers to it as the "Plesko 2005 training program".  But those moments, or pushing himself past the low points, are what drove him to be as motivated as he is today.  It's motivation like that which separates those simply with natural talents from those who become true champions.

Let's see Chris' interview questions...

Chris

What is your birthdate? 2/19/1982
Do you have any nicknames? Pivvay, Plesko
What's your favorite trail or ride? The White Rim in Moab. The 100+ mile loop can be ridden in many ways and the challenge is hard yet attainable by anyone. Plus the wide open views of the desert and all the towers never gets old.
How long have you been racing bikes? On and off since I was 16 years old when I started racing triathlons. I've been training and racing mountain bikes seriously since September 2005 after my failed attempt at the Leadville 100.
Which squeeky toy will you be riding with this season? After retiring the cow and giraffe, this year I'm riding with the low profile Land Shark.
What is one riding goal for 2008? To ride from my house over Rollins Pass to Winter Park and back.
What is one racing goal for 2008? To successfully complete a multiday self supported mountain bike race.
What is one goal you would like to see the team achieve? I would love to see everyone have a great race and pull off an awesome team score at the Winter Park series.
What is your favorite cycling related product? My Redline Monocog. I never thought I could have so much fun with such an inexpensive bike.
The thing I enjoy most about riding is... seeing beautiful new places. Riding a bike has taken me all over the country and to areas that are unreachable in a car.
