Following close behind DeLeeuw in last years CCTT, at Winter Park and now in the interviews is Marni Plesko. This interviewer's exceptionally cute and wonderful wife is fresh off her first season of racing bikes. While nervous to do her first time trial and cross country MTB race, she persevered and ended up going the distance in both series. With the help of her friends and class partner, future Ride Against the Machine interviewee Melissa Clark, she took 2nd place for the 19-29 beginner women at the Winter Park series. This year she's looking to step up her racing in the sport class and keep pushing her endurance. During the off season you'll find her hiking 14ers, wandering the deserts of Fruita and Moab in search of dry dirt and most importantly, napping.

Let's see what else she has in store for this season...

What is your birthdate? March 28, 1982
Do you have any nicknames? Marni, Mrs. Pivvay
What's your favorite trail or ride? Hmmm...well...I think I like Red Rocks the best but  I also have a nostalgic attachment to Betasso
How long have you been racing bikes? A yearish
Which squeeky toy will you be riding with this season? Aero-Bunny baby!  She may need to be retired eventually though.  Sad
What is one riding goal for 2008? I want to learn to art of going UP technical objects and/or curbs.  I'm no longer such a huge wussie going down stuff, now I have to bite the bullet and learn to go up stuff
What is one racing goal for 2008? I'd like to not get spanked in the Sport class in Winter Park.  And tackle a 50 miler.  And try a traditional road race. And crack the top half of my age group in Cherry Creek.  And not look really stupid in the process.  Oh wait, that's more than one goal.  Good thing I'm married to the interviewer.
What is one goal you would like to see the team achieve? I'd like to see the team stick together, ride a lot, and not get so serious that we forget about the fun.
What is your favorite cycling related product? Helmet.  For sure.  I like my head.
The thing I enjoy most about riding is... The great friends that come along with doing it.  It feels good to succeed and fail with friends around to laugh at you (I mean with you).  I initially started riding so I could see my husband now and then, and I ended up finding some great friends along the way.

Keep up with Marni's training and her thoughts on teaching or just life at her blog. In the next couple days our featured rideagainstthemachine.com interview will be with a guy who likes to ride in circles a lot so don't miss it!
