Melissa is the first rider of this weekend's featured dynamic duo, the Clark sisters. Coming back for her second season of racing, she's looking to build on the experience and sucesses she had in 2007. Last season she jumped into both the Cherry Creek time trial series and Winter Park, doing a great job riding an old Trek hardtail for most of the year. For 2008 she'll be piloting her sweet new Giant Anthem full suspension machine and is hoping to add Winter Park to her list of podium accomplishments! In addition to racing, she's been tackling both Moab and Fruita and making great strides in her technical abilities. After bombing Porcupine Rim on the hardtail behind Scott, Erik and Craig, Melissa realized she could ride anything. She also has a secret weapon in her corner with her number one fan and daughter, Ayshia, plus our ringleader, Scott, cheering her on. Now let's hear what the elder Clark has to say herself...

What is your birthdate? March 29, 1981 Do you have any nicknames? Mel What's your favorite trail or ride? Favorite ride ever-Porcupine Rim, Moab and favorite trail in the front range-Lair o' the Bear How long have you been racing bikes? One year Which squeeky toy will you be riding with this season? My gorgeous blue whale What is one riding goal for 2008? I'd say improving my uphill, both climbing and the technical stuff. And mastering switchbacks. And completing a century. Sorry that's more than one...Oh yeah, and not getting hurt. What is one racing goal for 2008? To improve from last year. What is one goal you would like to see the team achieve? To remember why we are in this sport to begin with-yeah, the competition and podiums are awesome-but we're here for the fun! What is your favorite cycling related product? My cute, pink Specialized Body Geometry gloves and Ergo grips (especially after Porcupine Rim!) and of course, my gorgeous blue whale The thing I enjoy most about riding is... the company, the challenges, the food and beverages afterwards...
